Trusty's is a Services Network: an online community for searching, browsing, and sharing insights on the best (and worst) service businesses on the planet.
Trusty's was conceived from the constant frustration of finding reliable service providers: plumbers, babysitters, tax accountants, gardeners and dentists. It was further inspired by unpleasant encounters with shifty providers looking to make an easy buck. (An auto mechanic on Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn immediately comes to mind.) The vision was to replicate traditional, small-town, word-of-mouth recommendations, but on a grand scale. If it all works out, exceptional service providers around the globe will get the acknowledgment (and business) they deserve, and terrible ones will go out of business.
If we had to distill our mission, it would boil down to two tenets:
1. Information is power. By providing details on the reputation, location, rates and experience of service providers, and enabling people to search and sort based on criteria that matter to them, we subtly shift the balance of power into the hands of consumers.
2. Nice guys CAN finish first. True, we've all had bad experiences with rogue service providers, but we've also been pleasantly surprised by the competence and generosity of those who take service seriously. We want Trusty's to be their domain -- a place where value, integrity and quality of service are esteemed and celebrated.
